I am a great lover of Sarah Jakes and she encourages me every single time I decide to keep myself updated with what she is doing again. She wrote this on her facebook page and I decided to share this with you. #beblessed.
I keep thinking that sharing my story will become
easier. I've made so many detours in my life that being open about them
makes me so vulnerable to people and their opinions. I just wanted to
say that no matter how many pictures you see me taking, interviews I'm
doing, or blogs I've written the nerves and fear remain. I think we
spend a lifetime waiting to pursue our heart's desires because we want
to be accepted. When people can't grow with us we often choose to be
stuck. We allow our lives to be dictated by what we "think" people will
believe about us... Foolishly, we convince ourselves that because we've
done X we no longer deserve Y. When really it comes down to what we will
believe about ourselves. Critics whisper when you get it right and yell
when you get it wrong. None of their voices combined can match God's.
Will you tune Him out to check in with "them"? I don't mind the nerves.
The fear won't stop me.. And I'll no longer be on the sidelines of my
own life being coached by my insecurities or opinions. I'll stand in my
truth. I'll do it afraid. Because growth is just that necessary for me
and I see so much grace shining in my vulnerability. Each breath we take
is permission from God to not just exist, but to live. Don't waste your
breath....
I believe so much in the saying that everyone has a past and no matter how negative it is, it is that past that launches you into your future. The fact that your life has not been taken at this point, no matter what you have done, should assure you of God's love for you. I can tell you that you are never going to get everything right. We
spend too much time convincing others to see our intentions through our eyes
and not nearly long enough seeing our actions through theirs. Your life is yours! Everyone has an individual race. However you decide to live it, you owe no one any explanations but God. After all, its still God that never fails right?
Anything you feel you need or want, you deserve it and no one can deny you of it. Your past should not dictate what your future is but should guide you as to what and what not to do. Live everyday with one assurance, God loves you and is full of faith in you. Whether you believe in him or not, he's there and is the only one that is ever going to be your greatest fan! God's love...
Awesomely true :)
